Working to increase bat speed. At SS/2B, has very smooth actions. Very good range (reads ball well off the bat with good reaction time). Strong situation awareness. Communicates well. Good team leader. Strong work ethic. Works out at gym four times/week, hits off tee, goes to field on own to get extra work in. Excellent student (3.9 GPA, many advanced courses, 30-31 projected ACT, National Honors Society).

MESSAGE FROM ZACK

I’m Zack Flattum out of Park High School in Cottage Grove, Minnesota. I’m a 2021 graduate who is 5-foot-10, 170 pounds and plays shortstop/2nd base. I own a 3.9 cumulative GPA and intend to major in engineering. One of the things that stands out about me is my ability to be a natural leader for people both in and out of sports. My 60 time is 6.93, my infield velocity is 82 mph and had a .410 batting average, a .490 OBP and 14 stolen bases (33 hits, 20 games) in my last high school season.

My best attribute on the field is my ability to make things happen, whether it’s making a flashy play in the field or getting a hit in a big situation. I’m always making winning plays. My hands are my biggest strength, both at the plate and in the field. I’m a player who’s constantly doing whatever I can to get better. Outside of my games and practices for Great Lakes Baseball Academy, I have a routine of going to the gym four times/week, as well as getting extra reps with my dad almost daily. Academically, most of the classes I take are advanced (either IB or AP classes), and I’ve lettered academically every year of high school. As a natural-born leader, on the field I always know what’s going on and make sure that my teammates do as well. I am my teammate’s biggest fan, and I’m always encouraging them and doing what I can to make them better.

It has always been a dream of mine to play the sport I love at the next level. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile, and I hope we talk soon.
