evaluations

6-foot-8, 220-pound small forward/post/shooting guard. Right-handed. Projects best as a small forward, but is very versatile and can play almost anywhere. Strong inside. Excellent rebounder and shot blocker. 7-foot-1 wing span. Effective on offensive glass. Follows up shots of teammates to oftentimes grab rebounds and dunk the ball coming off the rim (can get high above the rim). Excels at tipping to himself to get rebounds.  Anticipates shot well to get blocks. Finishes around rim well. Solid mid-range jumper (almost automatic from 14 feet and in). Can also hit 3-pointers. Uses step back to create own shot. Very good off the screen. Leader. Communicates well on defense and always talking. Low-post defense is strong. Also leads by example. Loves the game and works hard to improve. Does basketball drills or works out every morning before school and then plays in pick-up games after school. Also does cross-fit training to improve speed and lateral movement. Working to improve having a quicker shot off the dribble and passes. Sometimes gets in foul trouble by being aggressive attempting to block shots. Excellent student (3.875 GPA). Looking to major in kinesiology.

A continually improving forward who can play inside and outside, Suemnick has been downright dominating at times around the basket. He had eight blocked shots in a victory over Little Chute, and finished with 29 points and 20 rebounds in a triumph over Kewaunee. Suemnick is averaging 19.0 points, 10.7 rebounds and 2.9 blocked shots for coach Cody Stelmach and the Vikings, who shared the North Eastern Conference championship with Freedom and Wrightstown. Suemnick, who is shooting 62 percent from the field and 73 percent from the free-throw line, and his talented teammates take a 20-4 record into Thursday’s WIAA Division 3 sectional semifinal game against Valders.

Sky’s the limit for Denmark’s Suemnick

April 13, 2018

By ScoutU staff

There are two intangibles that can’t be taught to a basketball player: height and athleticism. Denmark 2019 grad Patrick Suemnick has both.

Suemnick is 6-foot-6½, 205 pounds and features the athleticism that often drops the jaws of spectators watching him. A dunk following up a missed shot? It’s almost routine for Suemnick.

“He’s very athletic,” said Harry Boyce, Suemnick’s AAU coach with Team 1848. “Long arms, good intangibles. … READ MORE

MESSAGE FROM PATRICK

My name is Pat Suemnick, I am a 6-foot-8, 225-pound Division 1 transfer from Robert Morris University. I am a gym rat who is always training or playing somewhere. I plan on playing basketball for as long as I possibly can — it’s the only thing I truly love to do. I am hungry for knowledge and always willing to work and learn. I am a player who never comes back from summer without a major addition to my game.

I am looking for a long-term home where I can learn the small details of the game that have a major impact at the highest level. This summer has been my biggest transformation yet, and no matter where I go, I am going to have a great year.
