5-foot-3, 145 pounds. OF/utility. R/R. Maddie’s top strength is her bat. Has a powerful swing (70 mph exit) and makes consistent and solid contact. Not a home-run hitter yet (does hit some home runs), but does have very good power potential with her good extension and hip turn. Rarely strikes out. Working to hit to opposite field more consistently. Versatile (can play many positions). In the OF (57 mph arm), reads the ball well and gets good jumps. Can throw from RF to 3B to get runners out. Has good situation awareness. Working on a quicker transition to throw the ball quicker. Excellent work ethic (lifts weights 4-5 times/week; gets hitting lessons). Excellent student (4.0 GPA with many advanced classes, 28 ACT).
— Jason Lauren, ScoutU Scout, 414-303-7607,

Maddie Koch is a fantastic athlete, and I am happy to share my thoughts. Maddie is not only an excellent member of our softball program, but she’s also an outstanding student in the classroom. I am fortunate to not only coach her, but she is also a student of mine. Maddie works hard on and off the field. Her passion for the game of softball is extraordinary. She is a very positive individual, excellent student-athlete, and has a strong work ethic. Maddie is very coachable and will excel in all she does because of her perseverance and growth mindset. It is a joy to work with her every day on the softball field and in the classroom.
— Jeff Frenkel, Hortonville H.S. coach

I am happy to write the following recommendation for Maddie Koch. Before I speak about her softball skills, I want to mention how great of a kid she is. She’s genuinely nice and fun to be around. She has tremendous work ethic, which has allowed her to achieve many of her goals. As a softball player, she’s a wonderful teammate, works to develop and refine her skills on both offense and defense. And best of all, she hits for average and power, has good arm strength and footwork in the outfield, has a strong softball IQ and continues to be a student of the game. It has and will continue to be my pleasure to take the field with Maddie.
— Chad Mix, Impact Fastpitch 16U coach

Hello, my name is Maddie Koch, and I am a 2022 graduate at Hortonville High School in Wisconsin. I am a 5-foot-3, 145-pound outfielder (57 mph OF, 70 mph exit), and I am also a utility player who has and will play any position needed. I have a 4.0 GPA (unweighted), a 28 ACT score and participate in many CAPP/AP classes, like CAPP English and Spanish as well as AP biology and U.S. history. I plan on furthering my education with a major in exercise science, along with pre-chiropractic or pre-physical therapy.

As a softball player, my greatest strengths are hitting and being able to read the ball in the outfield. Outside of my regularly scheduled softball practices and games, I continuously go to the diamonds to hit in the cages and take hitting lessons, taught by former college players, to better my swing. Within high school, I am involved in a weight-training class, but I also go lift on my own to increase my strength for the outcome of being able to hit and throw harder. In summer, I am involved in a lifting program through the high school to improve my stamina and agility. Academics are also especially important to me as well, and I continuously try to push myself in that area. I am in the Spanish National Honor Society and tutor younger Spanish students. I have also spent time teaching math to elementary students in summer school and helping with our local softball league.  I love being able to share my passions and hopefully inspire others.

Thank you for taking time to read my message. I am excited to hear back from you and learn more about how I can fit into your academic and athletic programs!
