evaluations

Jayce Purdy is a legit 2021 talent from Chandler, Indiana. She is a beast and plays just as big. She has a cannon for an arm and challenges anyone with it. She has a consistent 1.71 pop time and will only get stronger and faster. Breaks down a hitter well to control her pitcher and keeps her thumb under the ball well to earn those low strikes, yet works her dominate arm even better to earn those inside and outside ones as well. Offensively, Jayce brings a huge stick with her and executes with very strong and quick hands through the zone. Jayce projects very high and will probably fit as a 3-5 hole type hitter in almost any lineup. She’s going to be special, and will be found playing nearly all of the major events with the Illinois Force.

MESSAGE FROM JAYCE

My name is Jayce Purdy from Chandler, Indiana. I am a 2021 C/3B/SS playing for Boonville High School and Illinois Force. I would consider myself as an asset to my team on and off the field. My strongest roles as a catcher is my ability to control runners with my arm (1.71 pop), which is what I have heard from my catching coach, umpires and other teams’ coaches. What I have learned from being a catcher is that leadership plays such a big role in the position, so that’s what I strive to get better at every day. I have taken what I learned from catching into my hitting. Being up to bat while my team is down, I know it’s my responsibility to get everyone pumped up and back in the game by putting all my energy into the ball and not giving up.

What sets me apart from everyone else, in my opinion, is my dedication to the sport I fell in love with. After school, I love to get my weight lifting in at least 4 days a week, including a full practice afterwards 5-6 days out of the week. To me, it’s a want to practice rather than a chore. I always strive to be the best I can be for my parents, coaches, team and for myself.  I’m so blessed to have parents as dedicated as I am and supporting me throughout my career.

I love learning new things to help my team out during those close games. During the times I’m not playing, I think it is extremely important to get my schoolwork done on time and maintain above a 3.7 GPA. I know how important academics are to my future.

Thank you coach for taking a look at my profile and reading a little about me. Please feel free to contact me if you feel I’m a good fit.
