Carrington Williams is a 2021 outfielder who checks all the boxes of a future college student-athlete. He has a very strong build that’s evident in his left-handed swing. Williams does a great job of staying balanced and keeping his swing path level through the zone. He’s able to barrel the ball up thanks to a nice weight transfer and quiet hands. Carrington’s exit velo has been measured up to 90 mph.  Williams is ranked the #22 OF in North Carolina by Prep Baseball Report. Defensively, he has a strong arm (82 mph), clean exchange and good accuracy. His pitch arsenal includes a sinking fastball up to 75 mph and a curveball around 64 mph.  Williams will be successful at the next level because of his work ethic. He loves baseball and is always in the gym lifting weights (Also does 400 pushups/day). Coaches are constantly praising him for outworking his teammates.  Carrington is proud of the way he’s balanced his athletics with academics. He owns a 4.1 GPA while taking two AP classes as a junior. He’s open to all opportunities because he want to extend his baseball career as long as possible. — Jon Feyen, N.C. Baseball Scout, 920-979-3093 (cell),

My name is Carrington Williams, and I am a 2021 graduate at Jordan High School in Durham, North Carolina. At 5-foot-8 and weighing 180 pounds, I’m a lefty who primarily plays in the outfield. I also pitch and play first base as secondary positions. I would like to major in engineering when I attend college. Simply put, I outwork and outperform others on and off the baseball field. I batted .375 with a .500 on-base percentage during my junior year.

I have a very strong arm making throws from outfield to home with accuracy (82 mph OF). Also, I own a powerful swing  (90 mph exit) that I use to hit the ball everywhere on the field — not just to my pull side. I am also great at adjusting to any pitch thrown to me. Besides these physical attributes, one thing that makes me truly different from other athletes is my outstanding work ethic driving me to get bigger, stronger and faster. I started lifting in the gym when I was 13 and I haven’t stopped since. I work out 3 to 6 times a week. My workouts include deadlifts, bench press, shoulder press, various squats, calf raises, forearm curls, 200-300 push-ups and sit-ups, mile runs on the treadmill and band work.

Academically, I am always an honor roll student. I take two AP classes this year, and the rest of my classes are honors. I work very hard in school and stay out of trouble, which has earned me a 4.12 GPA in return for my focus in the classroom. My strengths outside of baseball include being a leader, hard worker and team player, but above all, I never give up, even in adversity. I would love nothing more than to play college baseball, which is a passionate goal of mine I am constantly working to achieve.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read my letter, and I hope we can discuss your program soon!
